Lisa Cortes Bueno
Lisa lives in her hometown of Baraboo, Wisconsin, with her husband and three children. They share their home with two cats: a black rescue named Marco, and a finicky bengal named Kuzco.
She attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and earned her BFA in Illustration with an emphasis on design. Originally planning to pursue fine art, she quickly discovered that she was more interested in illustration and graphic design as a way of using her skills in support of others.
Lisa is an Orthodox Christian and has a dear love of Byzantine iconography. Her artistic style is heavily influenced by 90s cartoons and anime, like The Powerpuff Girls and Sailor Moon, with bright colors and stylized figures. Her favorite artists include Vincent Van Gogh, Alphonse Mucha, Scott Campbell, and Jim Balent. While working on a project, she often listens to Muse, The Black Keys, and soundtracks from Studio Ghibli films.
